Your dentistry team at Westboro Station Dental is comprised of experienced professionals led by Dr. Dan Hwang. Dr. Dan Hwang
Dr. Dan Hwang was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. He has a B.Sc Biology from the University of Western Ontario and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Toronto. He had a successful clinic in the Kawarthas but his love for Ottawa made him give up his clinic there and return home.
In his spare time, Dr. Hwang combines a love of travelling with volunteer dentistry and has provided dental services throughout Central and South America. In fact, Dr. Hwang met his wife and fellow dentist, Dr. Claudia Courchesne, on a dental humanitarian mission to Peru. They are parents to two children, Sophie and Alex.
Both Dr. Hwang and Dr. Courchesne are committed to the practice of quality dentistry, enhanced patient care, and comprehensive treatment planning. They average over 100 continuing education hours per year and have completed the core curriculum at the Pankey Institute of Advanced Dental Education in Key Biscayne, Florida. They are continuing their learning at Spear Education in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Dr. Emma Wong
Originally from Ottawa, Dr. Emma Wong received her dentistry degree from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Since graduating in 2012, she has worked in family practice on the Sunshine Coast of BC and in Toronto, and most recently with military members at the Canadian Forces Base dental unit in Kingston.
Dr. Wong enjoys working with patients of all ages. Her practice philosophy focuses on providing exceptional dental care in a gentle and caring manner with an emphasis on patient education. She is a member of the Ontario Dental Association, the Canadian Dental Association and is a member in good standing with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.
Prior to becoming a dentist, Dr. Wong lived for 3 years in Costa Rica where she pursued her passion for surfing. She has also traveled abroad as a volunteer dentist to Brazil and Cambodia. Dr. Wong is thrilled to be returning to her hometown to raise her family.
Dr. Paloma Sawaya
Dr. Paloma Sawaya was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. Following high school, she completed her post secondary education at the University of Ottawa, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences. She then moved on to complete her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Toronto.
Afterwards, Dr. Sawaya spent a year in Northern Ontario practicing general dentistry before moving back to Ottawa. She strives to provide the highest level of care to her patients in all aspects of dentistry, and to provide a comfortable and pleasant experience.
Outside of the office, Dr. Sawaya enjoys spending time with friends and family, visiting art museums, and trying out new foods.
